First, here is a simple SIR model I made to help students understand disease growth, flattening the curve, and delays in lockdowns/quarantines versus drops in rates of infections. 


Here is an online simulator and here is a doc of background info for students.  
My students use Stella Online for Anatomy and Physiology. All students have Chromebooks. They built negative feedback loop models earlier in the year. Examples of my students’ endocrine models:

Insulin and glucose Regulation of ovulation

Blood pressure regulation Evolution of HIV resistance

This week students are researching a particular infectious disease and the immune response. I will give them comparable info from COVID-19.
Next week I will share with them my Stella SIR model. Students will then edit this model to make relevant to their particular infectious disease. Students will then run simulations and compare the behaviors of their disease with COVID-19. I'll post later.
