I am interested in any system dynamics models and/or academic papers on systemic racism.
Please share your resources!
Thank you!

We Can Make the World a Better Place
Innovative Teachers, in collaboration with far-sighted Parents and other Education Decision Makers CAN make this happen!
    Dear Colleagues
I hope this email finds you all well, safe and healthy.

I encourage you to take this unfortunate Covid-19 health crisis to think seriously about the need to move our educational system to a higher level, one where we teach our students those skills that help them understand the importance of the interconnectedness of the natural world, economic world, political world, and our social world, so we can arm them with the power to understand and change their futures by making more informed decisions.

Learn to build/teach systems modeling and obtain a gentle, guided model-building learning experience (with many out-of-the-box tested lessons and models for students) especially designed for math and science instructors by taking one of the three sequential online system dynamics modeling courses I developed from my more than two decades of experience teaching these concepts to secondary school students.  These courses are asynchronous, each 10-weeks starting June 15, 2020, and can be taken for continuing education graduate credit.   To encourage instructors to take these classes this summer  I am reducing my fee this summer by $100 per course.

1st Course in System Dynamics Modeling: Basic Models

    Participant responses:

“I thought it was a great course.  I liked how explicit all the instructions were for the computer modeling.”
“You really are a master teacher.  It is not always you complete a class and say, “Wow, that instructor was awesome.”
“Videos were outstanding.  They were at a pace I could follow along.  They were broken into reasonable time and information chunks."

    Participant responses:

I searched for years to find any available training on STELLA before I discovered the systems dynamics courses that Dr. Fisher offers.  I took Course 1 in 2015 and Course 2 in 2017.  I thoroughly enjoyed both courses.  Each proved to be challenging, fun, and beneficial to me.  Course 1 was a great introduction to systems dynamic and Course 2 provided even greater insights, resources and approached  into using systems dynamic and STELLA to teach.  I highly recommend the courses for any mathematics or science instructor who wants a valuable insight and approach to teaching and learning.

    “Your detailed feedback was priceless.”

    Student Response:

“I really enjoyed this class and thought everything was really important.  This class was not what I expected, it was much better.  I was really challenged by the material.  I enjoyed this class a lot.”

If you want to see examples of the systems models (and technical papers) secondary school students have built in a year-long modeling course, using system dynamics go to:  ccmodelingsystems/student-projects.

If you have not already started down the path to include more systems-based activities in your work (or with your own children), I hope you will take advantage of the current crisis to learn how to build systems analysis into your courses or work/life experiences.

My deepest wish is for all of us to make this change and brighten the future prospects for ourselves and our children/students.

    With sincere regards,

    Diana
