Good afternoon fellow happy Friday goers !!

A quick reminder that NEMO CIT is sponsoring the BASIC 40 hour training the week of October 7-11 at 2405 east Illinois in Kirksville.  Of course lunch and breakfast will be provided daily to participants.  This is the core training whereas first responders and mental health we come together to learn each others roles- to best treat individuals within the community without resorting to 96 hour holds by best utilizing the resources we have in place- which is often ourselves.  The training focuses on teaching skills that we can utilize to reduce stigma and potential trauma to individuals who are already in crisis.  Outreaching at the time reduces the number of future calls first responders receive as well as best care for the individual reaching out for help.

Please contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns- this will be the only basic training this year for our catchment area.  As always we appreciate our communities for continued support – but couldn’t do this without your involvement and commitment to teams created across the state to best intervene during a mental health crisis.

Thank you so much
