LAC seeks an experienced Sales Manager (Academic & Public Libraries) for a leading multilingual content provider organization. Our ideal candidate is an experienced sales professional who will positively represent the company with clients. Sales Manager must identify, qualify, develop and execute tactics to close sales opportunities from existing and potential clients and other industry contacts. This position is based in Minneapolis with approximately one-third travel time.

Primary Responsibilities

Represent company at conferences and trade shows.
Conduct site visits to sell products, gather industry intelligence and customer feedback.
Identify new customers and revenue streams.
Maintain electronic mail and telephone contact with customers to perform routine customer service and to perform routine problem solving.
Negotiate agreements with major consortia and multi-site institutions
Have key account management responsibilities.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Business or related degree is mandatory; MBA or MLS is a plus.
5 years sales experience in Academic Publishing is mandatory, ideally in database or journals sales.
Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of or ability to use CRM software such as Goldmine.
Fluency in at least one foreign language is a bonus.
Strong written and oral communications skills, required.
