Good morning Narda,

Our remote access users authenticating  via our EZProxy had the same problem as well.  Our users also experienced an error message saying the file was damaged once the pdf finally opened. On campus, it worked fine, no problems.  I contacted OVID and my favorite OVID specialist said that it sounded like an EZProxy issue to her.    It turns out, it was a problem with the EZProxy and our EZProxy specialist was able to correct it.   We also use Serials Solutions.  Let me know if you need more information.  Thanks!

Sincerely,

Subject: [SERIALST] Remote Access and Ovid

Dear SERIALSTs,
We have been experiencing a lot of frustration and general difficulty in accessing the full text online journal subscriptions that we have available through our Ovid database subscriptions -- Ovid Nursing Full Text, PsycARTICLES and Journals@Ovid.  Has any one else out there had (have) these problems?  Have you encountered or developed any solutions to this problem?

Last night I tried to access the journal:  American Journal of Nursing (AJN) at home and even with a DSL line and a computer loaded with memory I had to wait "forever" to even get into OvidSP, and then wait forever again to get an article to load.  We are accessing through a proxy server using EZProxy and then going through Serials Solutions to get to our journal links.

Thanks again for any advice, wisdom, empathy you would care to share with me!
Narda
