Sally,

We use Voyager as our ILS, so I can’t help you figure the systems end of it, but we had a similar problem and fixed it by changing the display of our OPAC to show both the 866 and the 853/863 fields, with the 866 field displaying first (since these were our older holdings). But that was in Voyager, and I wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly how to do that with your ILS.

Before explore that option, though, check the second indicators of your 863 fields. They must be set at a 0 or 1 to display in the system. A 2 or 3 will cause only the 866 to display.

Subject: [SERIALST] 866 vs. 863/853 fields in III

Hello all,

Using Innovative Interfaces Millennium Serials Module, I noticed some records have holdings in both an 866 (older holdings) and in the 853/863 fields (current holdings).  The problem is that the 866 is suppressing the 853/863 fields so that the 866 holdings appear in the public display but the 853/863 holdings do not.  Must I convert the 866 holdings to 863/853 fields or is there an easier fix?

Thanks and happy holidays to all,
Sally
