Hello,

We provide access to articles in unsubscribed journals for our patrons by purchasing blocks of tokens from both Wiley and Elsevier.  This access in unmediated by library staff, so as long as we still have tokens, our patrons can access any content that is available this way immediately.  We have been debating how to report this access , especially to accrediting bodies evaluating our academic programs.  Should we just include some kind of statement that says we provide access to most unsubscribed journal content through tokens, should we list titles specific to the discipline, should we mention how many tokens are used per year?  We want to find something that will be understandable to those outside the library and that doesn’t over or underestimate the value of this access.  I’m wondering what other libraries that offer this service to their patrons have done.

Thank you,

Susie
