Graduate Studies Special Projects Librarian

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies and the Libraries of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi seek an innovative and creative person to join the grant-funded  RCN CE3SAR  (Climate, Energy, Environment and Engagement in Semiarid Regions)  project designed to develop an innovative model for conducting interdisciplinary, region-specific, sustainability research closely tied to the needs of highly engaged local stakeholders. RCN CE3SAR will develop a research network in South Texas that aggregates regional research capacities specific to sustainability in semiarid climates contiguous to the Gulf of Mexico while also leveraging research expertise outside the region.

The successful candidate will apply organizational skills and technological knowledge and expertise to develop RCN CE3SAR’s Internet presence, build a DSpace repository of documents related to the project, participate in planning conferences and meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications: an Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an accredited school of library and information science or equivalent; demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of copyright; knowledge of metadata and metadata harvesting; technological knowledge of and experience with institutional repository management; experience with Worldwide Web  content management; demonstrated excellence in Web design; experience working with wiki Web sites and excellent organizational skills.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience using DSpace for digital assets management, research experience and experience with CSS and/or WordPress for Web content management.
