We cut ours drastically a few years ago also.
Basically what I did was learn to stop worrying.
Yes, I was horrified and afraid at first also, but honestly, my fears did not come true, not even the small ones. We do shelfread steadily, and had said if there were
problems, we would begin to bind whatever title it was again. But we’ve not had to do any.
We do, however, tattletape. All issues. Always have.
The times they are a-changing, that’s for sure. Good luck!
Sincerely,

Subject: [SERIALST] binding
Hi Everyone,
Our binding budget will be cut this year. I’m not sure by how much or if it will totally be cut. What have you all been doing instead of binding? Sending loose issues to the bound
shelves when there normally would have been a unit big enough to bind? If you do this, do you put tattle strips every issue? Right now, we only strip the titles that tend to “walk off,” even though they still go missing. What other options are there besides
shrink wrap?
Thanks!
Mykie
