Serialst folks: I did report on this before – the four “lost” years of archives

are being restored by JBJS – but I didn’t include Ms. Hache’s actual message.

Since she’s still receiving inquiries and doesn’t subscribe to Serialst, she has

asked me to post it for her.  Here it is, below.  SW

Hello Susan,

I am happy to report that we are changing the JBJS Site License to include content from JBJS from 1996 to present instead of 2000 to present.  Thus the archive will be 1889-1995.   I am so glad that you brought this to my attention while there was still time to take corrective action.

Thank you for your patience as I worked to get this change into effect.

The notice below is being sent to the subscription agents tomorrow.

Important Notice: change to JBJS Online Archive

It has been brought to our attention that the dates of the JBJS Online Archive are such that institutions will be paying for content that they have already purchased in the recent past.

We feel the prudent course of action is to therefore include the years 1996-1999 in JBJS Site License Subscriptions (thereby providing access to 1996-current).

Thus, the dates covered by the JBJS Online Archive will be 1889 through 1995 (instead of through 1999).

Please update your records and inform your customers accordingly.

All my best,

Michelle
