This is similar to what happened when Taylor and Francis bought Haworth. We couldn’t get access to prepaid titles for quite a while.  A lot of protest from librarians and eventually  we had access and some credit for back issues of undelivered print. But no refund for the over 6 months our students didn’t have use.

Subject: [SERIALST] Bellwether Press/Taylor & Francis.

Hi all,

As of 2013 Taylor & Francis has taken over Bellwether Press’s journal titles, but, as I understand  it, they’re not going to fully take over the subscriptions until 2014.

However Taylor & Francis is hosting new issues on their site. For example they’ve just published the second issue of Urban Geography, which we subscribe to.

Because we paid Bellwether Press for our 2013 subscription we can’t access issues on the T&F site, which would be fine, but Bellwether isn’t adding any new issues. I’ve contacted Bellwether about this and was informed that they don’t have the rights to any new 2013 issues. Only Taylor & Francis can publish new issues. They’ve tried contacting T&F about this and haven’t gotten a response, and when I contact T&F I’m told I have to contact Bellwether. I’ve tried explaining the situation, but I still get the same answer.

We’re stuck because T&F won’t acknowledge payments made to Bellwether, and Bellwether can’t provide access because T&F is now the sole publisher.

Has anyone else had this problem?
