Many of you have received email from Springer about ‘replacement’ MARC records. I believe that most catalogers and/or eresources librarians at CUNY are ordering Springer records through OCLC collection sets. This means that your records are better than the original Springer records.

We should pay attention to the movement of titles from one collection to another. However, I OLS cannot commit to doing a wholesale remove and replace of all of your collections in ALEPH at this time.

It would be helpful if you can report to us when you find problems accessing titles that are in the collections you have already loaded. You may also end up with the occasional duplicate record.

If the situation becomes problematic OLS will certainly work with your libraries to figure out how best to manage it!!

Thanks

Marsha
