Hello Jessica,

Here, at Kent State University, we use checkin cards AND item records to track all current print issues. We are using III Millennium and I use the Serials module. We create item records for each issue at point of checkin (a function of the checkin card). We also use the claiming function in the serials module to electronically claim non-received issues with our vendors. This function relies on the checkin card for claiming.

Subject: [SERIALST] Print journal claiming

Colleagues,

We've recently switched from creating checkin cards for our print journals to creating item records for them instead. Do any of you have experience with creating item records for print journals? If so, we're wondering how to best go about claiming missing issues. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
