The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Libraries seeks an energetic, intellectually curious and forward-thinking professional to fill the position of Collection Assessment and Analysis Librarian. This new position reports directly to the Assistant Director of the Collections and Resource Management Division.  It supports the UWM research and teaching mission by helping to manage and develop the resources and collections to provide a 21st century research library for the UWM Libraries.

Principle responsibilities include: supporting the development and management of the UWM Libraries collections and resources; collaborating with the Division and across the organization to develop, analyzing and maintaining collections and resources supporting UWM research and curricula; providing data and analysis to inform strategic collection decision making for the UWM Libraries and its consortia; and collaborating across the organization and the UW System to create efficient processes.

 

Minimum Qualifications

·        Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or related degree from an American Library Association accredited program earned by the start of the appointment

·         Minimum 3 years library experience in academic or research library (significant pre-professional experience may be considered)

·         Knowledge of library collection development and collection management issues, practices, and current trends

·        Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis, including producing reports, visualizing data, and communicating findings

 

Preferred Qualifications

·        Additional Master’s degree or graduate course work in an academic discipline

·        Supervisory experience

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills

·        Experience with licenses and contract negotiations
