ALCTS webinar: RDA Serials Cataloging Update

All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11am Pacific, noon Mountain, 1pm Central, and 2pm Eastern time.


Description: It has been four years since the CONSER program approved the use of RDA for serials cataloging. This webinar will provide an update on serials cataloging practices that have evolved over the last four years as well as present useful resources that have been developed in the meantime.


Learning outcomes:

* Understanding of current CONSER serials cataloging practices that have developed over the last four years

* Knowledge of resources that can be used to support the serials cataloger


Who should attend? Cataloging staff who already have some experience with serials cataloging and who want to stay current.


Presenter: Steve Shadle is Serials Access Librarian at the University of Washington Libraries where he is responsible for local systems and services that provide access to electronic serials (including library cataloging). With Les Hawkins (CONSER Program Coordinator), he developed the Electronic Serials Cataloging Workshop for the Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program (SCCTP). He serves as a trainer for a number of SCCTP courses. Steve is a past recipient of the Ulrichʼs Serials Librarianship Award and currently serves on the Editorial Board for Serials Review.
