Fort Hays State University/Forsyth Library

Library Specialist for Collections & Resource Development

Full-Time, Professional Staff position

Salary range: $32,000-$35,000

 

Assists with the oversight of financial assets, communicates with the University Business Office, and is responsible for maintenance and completion of payments for resources in various formats. Implements, coordinates, evaluates, and processes print and electronic federal, state and foreign, and United Nations government documents.

The incumbent performs advanced tasks to assist in acquiring, organizing and paying for the resources of the University library; including completing invoice work on the library management system and contacting vendors with payment information. Duties include reconciling charges in the University software and financial system and collaborative work with the University Business office to ensure alignment with State of Kansas payment procedures.  The employee corrects problems with shipments and invoices and maintains contact with vendors. Employee oversees accurate and consistent compilation of statistics related to the use of Government Documents on a monthly and annual basis. In the resource management process, the employee adheres to the Legal Requirements and Program Regulations of the Federal Depository Library Program.

May provide oversight to student employee(s).

Required: Associate or Bachelor’s degree, Accounting experience, experience performing standard office-tasks such as filing and use of computer systems in daily work.

Preferred: Experience working with library acquisitions, familiarity with library systems and workflows.
