You may be aware of OCLC’s system alerts web page: https://www.oclc.org/support/systemalerts.en.html

I use OCLC, but I don’t seem to be on that mailing list.  At my institution there could be more than a hundred OCLC users; I’m sure they’re not all on OCLC’s contact list.  And the one or two individuals who are might not pass the word along to all the others … or even know who they all are!  SW

In my experience, once OCLC knows about an outage, they send an e-mail to customers.

I guess because if OCLC is flooded with too many calls to handle it won’t do anyone much good.  If a few people find out and share the info, then the rest of us will know and not waste our time calling.  SW

So why don't we all do what she did and contact OCLC when things are down instead of wasting time on a listserv.

According to the recording on their Tech Support phone #, all products are down and they are actively working on correcting the issues. No timeline was given.
