Hello all:

We are in the process of getting rid of our microform holdings (microfilm and fiche) due to the need of additional  study space in the library and due to lack of use of these materials.

Would anyone be able to offer guidance on how to go about deaccessioning these kinds of materials?  Are libraries still actively collecting microforms and would it be worth my time to submit an email to this listserv with our microform holdings to see if any libraries are interested in what we are purging from our collection?  Is there a central processing agency that recycles microforms?

Any assistance anyone can provide (past experiences, organizations recycling microforms etc) would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mark
