Hi, Abbigail.

Our library is migrating from Millennium to Alma and we go-live in May 2017. I’m the serials cataloger and prediction patterns has been a much-discussed topic in our library.

I’ve compiled some testing of prediction patterns into a google doc along with the decisions and experiences of other Alma libraries who have chosen to or chosen not to use prediction patterns. I plan to continue to update the document as I do further testing.

Here is also a presentation on ordering, receiving and invoicing standing orders in case it might be useful.

If you haven’t already joined, the Alma list serv is a great source of info.

I hope this helps.

Dear SerialSTers,

My library is soon migrating to Alma.  We have Voyager now and I am only familiar with doing serials in Voyager.  The way you do serials in Alma is, frankly, confusing to me even with the trainings.  I don’t feel like I have a firm grasp of it.  Has anyone done Alma training with serials staff not using the official Alma training videos? Would you be willing to share insight or training materials?  The thing I’m having the most trouble with is setting up predictive patterns.
