We went through the Bridgeport to Acme transition a few years ago, and they were very patient, and unfailingly helpful to two different staff members who each did very little work with the bindery (because work assignments had not been changed from back when there was a large serials bindery order).
As a state institution, we could not get a large increase in per volume charges approved, but Acme understood that and built in larger "extra" charges for things we used really often -- from wider than usual bindings to down-spine lettering on narrower than usual bindings. Unlike Bridgeport, who kept per volume charges down so long that they could not fulfill our orders anymore, Acme provided the justifications we needed in order to be able to pay the necessary costs for our declining bindery needs.

Bridgeport National Bindery has been bought out by HF Group.
ACME Bindery in Charlestown (Boston), Mass. is now the only Mass bindery.

Good Morning,
I've double-checked the Serialst archives for bindery companies and only found 2 listed for my area -- HF Group & WERT.
Does anyone know of any other good bindery companies in the NorthEast (East Coast)?
Thank you.
Debbie
