Hello Jennifer

That’s a bit odd, Elsevier has the back file from 1985. Perhaps the society, Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), is trying to control access to the intermediate backfile, use browse by issue on the right hand side at: http://www.jognn.org/current. It looks like January issues and some supplements are freely accessible here: http://www.jognn.org/issues#decade=loi_decade_200&decade=loi_decade_199&decade=loi_decade_198&decade=loi_decade_197. There are also a handful of hybrid Gold Open Access articles available on ScienceDirect via this link: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/08842175/open-access. We still have access from 1997 to 2015 on Wiley Online because our big deal runs from 2015 to 2017.

The transfer database, http://etas.jusp.jisc.ac.uk/search/?st=&issn=0884-2175&fromyear=1900&frommonth=01&toyear=2018&tomonth=12&orderby=&action=search, indicates it transferred from Wiley to Elsevier, effective 2016-01-04. However, it is a medical title excluded from the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection, but available on Clinical Key from 2009: https://www.clinicalkey.com/nursing/dura/browse/journalIssue/08842175 and Journals Consult. It was formerly a Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins title. Who knows what will happen to it next.

Incidentally, we had an enquiry about another obstetrics title this month which transferred the opposite way, from Elsevier to Wiley and we lost all online access as a consequence (International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 0020-7292, Transferred to Wiley as of 2017, http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/00207292). Quite a merry-go-round!

Kind regards,

Subject: [SERIALST] help locating intermediate backfile

Hello,

Our institution is trying to order the intermediate backfile for the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, & Neonatal Nursing (1552-6909). The publisher switched from Wiley to Elsevier in 2016 but both are saying they can't sell it to us.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Jennifer
