Hi Michelle,

At work. I take my cell phone off our wifi, switch to my data, see if I can access the database/journal/ebook. Admittedly this adds the mobile formatting issue into it. I sometimes also check at home, if it's an ongoing issue. I'm the Electronic Resources Librarian (with a creative job title), and I'm usually the one who checks. Our Systems librarian as well, if we think it's a proxy server issue.

We are trying to figure out the best way to check off campus access of our electronic resources when we are ON campus.  We use EZ Proxy for authentication off campus.  If you would share how your institution checks access when your users call with problems, or when you are performing setup or general checking of resources.

If you could also say who performs the checking when problem notices come in.  Is it the electronic resources person, reference librarian on duty, help desk person … ?

Thank you for your input.
