Deadline extended! Submit papers, posters, and proposals: NCNMLG/MLGSCA Joint Meeting 2019 by March 18!

There is still time to submit a paper, lightening talk, poster, or special content to the 2019 NCNMLG/MLGSCA Joint Meeting: "Critical health sciences librarianship: examining our role in social justice", June 12-14, 2019 in San Francisco, CA.

We want to hear from you! Papers, lightening talks, posters, and special content sessions may describe any research or practice of interest to the medical library community that reflect the conference theme.

Presenters should be prepared to speak between 12-15 minutes. Lightening talks are limited to five minutes, and serve as a way to participate in the conference in a less formal manner than a contributed paper.

Note: contributed papers are oral presentations; a complete text of the paper is not required.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  March 18, 2019 at https://tinyurl.com/ycsfn6f8 .

Conference registration is coming soon! Additional information is available at https://ncnmlg.mlanet.org/joint2019/registration/

All papers, posters, lightning talks and special content sessions should reflect the conference theme of critical librarianship. Critical librarianship, rooted in critical theory, is about applying principles of social justice to our work in libraries.

We challenge everyone to get creative! Critical librarianship isn't a separate facet of librarianship; it involves ideas and principles we can all take on in our work each day.

You can incorporate the theme into your submission by....

1. Presenting on a topic related to critical librarianship

(i.e. a project that focuses on providing library services to vulnerable populations; plus more examples here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D391XQvSNPVPr2L2g3rmqYwYCb7H_ronRwIBhpkwE60/edit?usp=sharing>)

2. Using a critical librarianship lens to present your work and share ideas

(i.e. discussing how to shape health sciences collections in an antiracist way; additional examples here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D391XQvSNPVPr2L2g3rmqYwYCb7H_ronRwIBhpkwE60/edit?usp=sharing>)

3. Using critical teaching methods in the presentation of your work

(i.e. incorporating time for discussion into your presentation or other examples here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D391XQvSNPVPr2L2g3rmqYwYCb7H_ronRwIBhpkwE60/edit?usp=sharing>)
