This position is located in the Continuing Resources and Collections (CRaC) department, which resides in the Collections, Acquisitions and Discovery (CAD) Division. The CRaC Department's role is evolving to encompass the budgeting, identification, selection, acquisition, licensing, management and evaluation of print and electronic information resources, both continuing and one-time, for the UNLV Libraries.

ROLE of the POSITION

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries seeks a pro-active and innovative librarian to provide leadership and expertise for acquisition functions across all subject areas, formats and channels of delivery. This new position, in the Collections, Acquisitions and Discovery (CAD) division will report to the Head of Continuing Resources and Collections (CRaC), and will play a lead role as the CRaC department evolves and expands its acquisitions activities. The incumbent will have direct supervisory responsibility for operations, workflows and special projects involving ordering, payment, receipt, processing and access to information resources of all types.

The Lead Acquisitions Librarian will join the Libraries at an exciting time of ongoing transition. The Libraries successfully migrated to Ex Libris' Alma/Primo in December 2017 and is continuously reviewing workflows and procedures to ensure that we are fully utilizing the functionality of Alma, and that our staff have the training and skills to perform optimally in the migrated environment.
