Who’s going to be able to afford an electronic resource collection in 20 years if greedy publishers continue to hike prices at 20-30 percent a year?

Subject: [SERIALST] question

As print serials continue to diminish in collections and electronic serials rise in numbers it is a curiosity how academic institutions will address preservation needs in the future. Will print pieces still be bound or rebound? Will they be digitized? Are there other methods just becoming known that will be used? I would really like to get input from all of you on this list serve on this topic as it will affect so many areas of library resources.

                Thanks!
