Are you talking about ProQuest Historical Newspapers New York Times? I’m not having any trouble getting into articles from a randomly selected year of 1952.

I’ve noticed that link resolvers sometimes break up these historical newspapers by title changes, changes of publisher and reasons I’m not quite sure of; EBSCO’s FtF link resolver has 1923-2015 as one of the date ranges. That’s merely a formality though if you have all the correct title records activated in the link resolver.

If you’re talking about missing photos, that is a freelance copyright issue (I believe NYT doesn’t own the rights to these photographs and thus they can’t be included in the database). You have to get microform if you want those images. We kept our NYT microform partially for this reason.
