When I started my job here at St. Lawrence University almost a year ago
I noticed in the cataloging backlog a large, incomplete set of green,
paperbound volumes entitled:

        The New York Public Library

        The Research Libraries

        Interim list: Index

        Includes Titles Cataloged
        August 1981-March 1985

We have 12 volumes which cover entries from "A-Kores I" but not the rest
of the alphabet. I see NYPG records in RLIN for the print and
microfiche editions of this but neither state that it has ceased.
Meanwhile, there is a MNUG record in RLIN that states that it has ceased
but not when.

I asked our Head of Reference if she still wanted it cataloged
despite
it's being old and incomplete. Her reply was "Yes, but where's the
other half?"

I'm trying to determine if the other half ever existed. I also
wonder
if it or its earlier manifestations have any utility now when items
cataloged in recent years should show up in both OCLC and RLIN
databases. Can anyone out there fill me in?
