The most recent issue (February 2000) of CYBERSKEPTICS GUIDE TO INTERNET
RESEARCH had a short article on *How Do You Find Periodical Publishers?*
This site,
http://www.mediafinder.com/ , as well as one that I have used in the
past
were listed (my oldie was www.publist.com). Also mentioned was
ttp://ajrr.newslink.org for newpaper info. I have
http://www.opinion-pages.org/ccc-search.html bookmarked just for
personal
use when somebody asks what an alternative could be for the now defunct
international version of El Pais (or any other international title)

The publist site uses Ulrich's Periodicals Directory as its resource and
includes pre-launch listings! The mediafinder site uses the Standard
Periodical Directory.

Just thought I would share. I really enjoy Faxon's accessible-to-all
Serials Update Service at http://www.faxon.com/sus/ too. It crossed
my
mind that it doesn't hurt to periodically (heh-heh) mention these helps
for
those working in periodicals. There was a message on Backserv this
morning from a European serialist who had just learned of that list
through
this listserv! Which reminds me - the Blackwell's site is a goldmine of
links for serialists too! That is accessible at:
http://www.blackwells.com/services/library/community/index.html .

Any other *favorites* out there?
