Welcome and Introduction of CSSC Members II. Reports and Major Topics for Discussion: a. Report from CC:DA - Carolynne Myall, Head, Collection Services, East Washington University b. Report from MARBI - Mary Grenci, Serials Cataloging Librarian, University of Oregon, for Joe Altimus, Dataloads Specialist, The Research Libraries Group c. News and Reports from the Library of Congress, National Serials Data Program, and CONSER - Regina R. Reynolds, Head, National Serials Data Program, Library of Congress Regina will report news from the Library of Congress, NSDP and CONSER. She will also speak on ISSN and links to Metadata. d. Cataloging Serials in Transition: The Challenges of Cataloging Online Serials Published by United States Government Agencies - Thomas A. Downing, Chief, Cataloging Branch of the Library Programs Service, U.S. Government Printing Office. Tad will discuss: Defining serials as government publications, Web pages and their affect cataloging and access, GPO's cataloging policies for online works, Use of CONSER's "Single Record" option, Online access and OCLC's PURLs software, and Trends in publishing and cataloging. e. Revising AACR2 to Accommodate Seriality, Harmonization efforts of AACR2 with ISBD(ER), and Updates - Jean Hirons, CONSER Coordinator, Library of Congress. At the invitation of the Joint Steering Committee for Revision of AACR (JSCAACR) Jean has revised the contents of AACR Chapter 12. "Revising AACR to Accommodate Seriality: Rule Revision Proposals" available at: http://www.nlc-bnc.ca/jsc/ch12.htm Jean will be meeting with the CONSER Review Group at ALA and will share with us ideas that are generated at that meeting. She will also give an update on harmonization and the IST and discuss integrating resources and ask what we should be doing with them. Your input is needed and most welcome. III. Announcements: a.
