Jackson Library at The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro is seeking experienced, energetic, and
innovative applicants for Electronic Journals/Information
Delivery Librarian.  Our 190-acre campus is located one
mile from the center of Greensboro, a city of more than
200,000.  The University is located in the Piedmont Triad
(population 891,000), an area of great natural beauty,
diverse industry, cultural arts and mild temperatures.  The
University has more than 700 budgeted FTE faculty positions
and FTE enrollments of approximately 13,000.  Learn more

Responsibilities:  As a member of the Electronic Resources
and Information Technology Department, will lead and manage
the Library's electronic journals collection and document
delivery services. Will oversee the ILL unit and with
staff, explore and implement new and dynamic ways to
provide state-of-the-art, integrated document delivery
services.  Will coordinate and assist with the evaluation,
selection, and implementation of a wide variety of
electronic journals and document delivery options and
actively participate as a member of a nine-person team that
supports a broad range of electronic products and services
throughout the Library.

Requirements:  ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent.  Excellent
interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively
with clients and colleagues, and strong commitment to
public services.  Ability to work collaboratively in a team
environment and to manage multiple projects and priorities
effectively.  Experience with electronic resources
including e-journals, information systems, and WWW page
development and design.  Preferred:  Two or more years
relevant experience, including public services and
supervisory experience; knowledge of major electronic
information delivery formats and relational database
management system concepts; broad experience with hardware
and software; experience with several of the following -
Perl, CGI, ASP, SQL, Access, web server administration, NT
administration, CLIO, Ariel, Prospero, or other ILL
applications. Minimum salary $38,000, commensurate with
qualifications and experience.

The position is a twelve-month, tenure-track faculty
position available August 1.  Demonstrated professional
achievement, service, and scholarly/creative activity are
required for reappointment and tenure.  Standard state
benefits include state or optional (including TIAA/CREF)
retirement plans and 24 vacation days a year.
