CALL FOR PAPERS:  Spring 2001 meeting of the Ohio Valley Group of Technical
Services Librarians (OVGTSL)

THEME:  EVOLUTION OF TECHNICAL SERVICES, ALEXANDRIA TO VIRTUAL: PROBLEMS TO
SOLUTIONS

The Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians (OVGTSL), serving
Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, will hold its 2001 annual meeting at the
Holiday Inn - North, Lexington, Kentucky, on May 16-18. The OVGTSL
Conference Planning Committee invites proposals for presentations that
explore the evolution of technical services challenges and solutions within
the areas of  collaborative efforts, standards, technology, tools,
management issues, policies, publishers/vendors,  and
training/education.  Presentations relating to academic, public, or special
libraries from historical, theoretical, and practical perspectives are
welcome.   Possible areas include:

Consortial Endeavors: Acquisitions, Cataloging, Authority Control, ILL, Storage
Technology
Web-based Tools
Preservation
Space / Storage
Workflow / Procedures
End User Involvement
Customized Reports
Justification of Technical Services
Library Education (formal/informal): Curricula, Delivery

OVGTSL invites all interested persons, including librarians,
para-professionals, pre-professionals [students ], and others, to submit
proposals. Please include:
Name, address, institution and title, e-mail address, telephone number of
the presenter(s)
Title of presentation
Abstract (not to exceed 200 words)
Format (e.g. oral presentation, panel discussion, case study, poster
session, other)
Equipment needs (specify what presenter will bring and what needs to be
provided on site)
Total time desired, including time for questions
