Job title: Periodicals technician (full-time, temporary)
Salary range: $26,195 - 37,838
Location: Point Loma, San Diego

Duties: Responsible for the acquisition and receipt of periodicals and for
maintenance of the Library's periodicals collections.  Acquires periodicals
from publishers and periodicals vendor and monitors and does follow-up on
invoicing and payment.  Processes and routes incoming issues and claims
missing issues.  Maintains and updates database records and maintains the
neatness and accuracy of the periodicals collection.  Provides back-up
support for circulation and other administrative support as required.

Background Requirements:
Must be U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
Must have working library experience.  Must have a good, working knowledge
of standard library procedures and practices, including forms of
bibliographic entry, the use of a variety of bibliographic tools and
guides, and searching the World Wide Web.
It is highly desirable that the incumbent have experience in the ordering
and processing of serials, including entering them into an integrated
library system.
