Plan, coordinate and manage the overall operation of Serials in consultation with the Coordinator of Library Technical Processing. 2. Supervise Serials staff (3 FTE staff plus student assistants). 3. Manage the periodicals help desk. 4. Assist in developing and implementing short-term and long-term operational goals and objectives for the Technical Processing Unit. 5. Responsible for collection management and processing of Serials including electronic serials. 6. Share some reference duties. Salary range is $33,906 to $40,000 depending on candidate's qualifications and experience. Qualifications: Required: · MLS from an ALA accredited institution. · Second advanced degree in an academic discipline. · Library experience preferably in Serials. · Knowledge of the principles of serial management and of current and national issues in the acquisitions and processing of serials. · Knowledge of technical services activities and trends. · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. · Experience with integrated library systems (preferably with Voyager) and bibliographic utilities. · Hands-on experience in the utilization of current technology for technical processing. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is a premier comprehensive university and is one of 13 universities in the University of Wisconsin System. The Harold G. Andersen Library is a modern facility with over 459,000 volumes, 2000 periodical subscriptions, 1,000,000 microforms, 16,000 audiovisual items and 337,000 government documents, numerous electronic resources, and has full Internet access. The library integrated system is Endeavor Voyager. The library personnel consist of 23 professional and support staff members.
