Please excuse duplication.] Acquisitions/Serials Librarian The Position: Concordia College is seeking a creative, energetic librarian to coordinate the activities of the Acquisitions and Serials departments. This is a 10-month continuing appointment with faculty status. This person will work under the Library Director in a team environment. Responsibilities include coordinating the ordering, receiving and payments for library materials; maintenance of statistical records; supervision of support staff; and serving as liaison to assigned academic departments. The Acquisitions/Serials Librarian coordinates the Collection Development team and provides periodical collection development leadership. This person will also work regular shifts at the Reference Desk. The Carl B. Ylvisaker Library serves the Concordia College community by providing information resources and services that support the mission of the college. Staff includes 9 librarians and 12 support staff. The library maintains a collection of over 300,000 books, 50 newspapers, and 1500 periodical subscriptions. In addition, the library provides nearly one hundred electronic databases. Concordia College is part of the Tri-College University Consortium that also includes Minnesota State University Moorhead and North Dakota State University in Fargo. Qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited library program. Sympathy with the mission of a liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Preferred qualifications include a second advanced degree and previous experience with serials and acquisitions departments in academic libraries. The successful candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills.
