Library Specialist II
(Government Documents/Serials Specialist)

The George Washington University’s Jacob Burns Law Library seeks a
government documents/serials specialist to check-in government
documents and serial material on the library’s integrated online library
system. Duties include check-in and preparation for physical processing
of federal government documents, including microfiche and CD ROM
formats, monitoring developments at GPO which affect the receipt and
handling of government document material; receipt and record
maintenance for subscription materials, including advance sheets, loose-
leaf materials, pocket parts, replacement volumes, or supplements;
consultation with the Serials Librarian regarding creation of check-in
records or title changes; and, supervision of student assistants who
process the received materials. Qualifications include high school
diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience; three
years of progressively responsible library experience; experience with
online library systems, preferably INNOPAC; an ability to grasp details;
communicate effectively; and, work well independently as well as part of
a team.
