This was a serious loss in  one type of situation: e.g., for Trends in
neurosciences, the mointhly issues were in the psychology library, and
the
bound compendia in the biology library. Now that we have only one, we
don't
see any solution except to upgrade to the online version so both groups
have
access. Of course the online version has other advantages as well,
mainly
campus-wide access out of the library. (And similarly for some of the
other parts.)

One question: you say you were told you wouldn't be receiving the 2000
compendia. That's not how I interpret their statement in the 2001
catalog that
"compendia .. will not be distributed with 2001 volumes."-- to me it
means the
2000 compendia will be the last. But it wouldn't be the first time I and
they
disagreed on how to interpret their terms..
