Actually, it was not the subscription agents that are doing the Melody
Maker/New Musical Express switch.  The January 20,2001 issue of NME says
on
the cover that it is incorporating Melody Maker.  Since they are both
published by the same publisher, my guess is that the publisher combined
the
two.  I personally prefer the format of Melody Maker, but they do cover
the
same general topic:  pop/rock music.

You should be able to request a cancellation with your subscription
agent.
We are going to keep NME since it is a suitable replacement for Melody
Maker
for our public.

Apparently Melody Maker has ceased recently, and our vendor substituted
New
Musical Express.  Upon examination it appears that these are two
entirely
different titles...do other subscription agents do this as well?  I'd
think
that the new choice would be entirely up to us, but I'm still relatively
unexperienced in these matters.
