Serialists :

In the interest of providing analytic title access to aggregations
of electronic serials provided by vendors (e.g., Kluwer, Emerald
Plus, etc.), New York University is interested in discovering vendors
and/or third parties which provide sets of bibliographic records for
such products. We are aware of the EBSCO Online product which is
available as a service for those titles we subscribe to via EBSCO. We
are also aware of the "Task Group on Journals in Aggregator Databases"
work with EBSCO, Bell & Howell, etc.

What we are interested in now is discovering the availability of
bibliographic record sets for individual aggregator products such
as Wiley, Springer and Emerald Plus to name a few.

Regarding such products, I have a few questions :

1. Did you encounter any specific difficulties in loading these
record sets?

2. I would be very interested to know if anyone is aware of a
listing of new sources for these record sets as they become available,
in addition to those listed on the OCLC site. For example, perhaps we
could compile a list of available sets on the website of the "New Task
Group on Journals in Aggregator Databases." (??)

3. Finally, is anyone aware of any coordinated cooperative
efforts of serialists to catalog these groups of hundreds of serial
titles at the analytic level? For example, Library A does the A-G
titles; Library B agrees to catalog the H-N titles; Library C does the
O-Z titles, etc.

Please respond directly to me and if there is interest I will
coordinate a summary for the List. Thanks very much for your help,
