Lauren,

I'm sure you'll get a number of answers, but since I'm on the East
Coast....

Newsweek combines their last Dec and first Jan issue into one issue and
dates it Jan. 1.

The Jan 1, 2000 issue is a combination of the Dec 27 and Jan 3 issue and
is numbered v. 134, no. 26
(It has Charlie Brown on the cover.)
The Jan 10 issue is numbered v. 135, no. 2 and has fireworks over the
Eiffel Tower on the cover.
So No, they never produced a v. 135, no. 1.

On our shelves, last issue of 1999 was v. 134, no. 26 (Dec. 27, 1999/Jan.
3, 2000). It was a double issue called "January 1, 2000" on the cover.
The first issue of 2000 was v. 135, no. 2 (Jan. 10, 2000).

I have the Newsweek issues for Jan. 1, 2000 and Jan. 10, 2000 here in
beside me, According to fine print, Jan. 1, 2000 is a double issue. Dec.
27, 1999/January 1, 2000, Volume CXXXIV, no. 26. The Jan. 10th issue is
Jan. 10, 2000, vol. CXXXV, no.2.

Hope this helps muddy the waters even more than they were before.

Hello,

This is one of those situations where they have combined the last issue of
the year with the first issue of the new year. The volume/issue
information is as follows: v.134/135 #26/1 January 1, 2000.
