Good morning. We currently subscribe to over 600 titles on
microfiche- we purchase most of our titles from Bell & Howell/ProQuest
(formerly UMI). Of these titles, over 275 of them are titles that we
also subscribe to in hardcopy. Most of the titles that we subscribe to
in both formats we keep the print copy for 5-10 yrs.
We haven't had many problems with the quality of the fiche. When
there has been an issue with the quality, Bell & Howell has provided
replacement fiche promptly without any hassles at all. We have been
quite satisfied with the service we have received from them. Please
don't hesitate to contact me if I can answer any more questions for
you.

Sincerely,

Space limitations have forced McGoogan Library to consider purchasing
microfiche for older volumes of our most important titles. We are
interested in having comments from those who regularly use microfiche
as to the varying quality of the products from fiche sources, in both
resolution of text, photographs, and other graphic representations; and
the actual sheet of fiche. Our interest is in purchasing "top of the
line" microfiche.

 Thanks for your input.
