I was told that HBR would not backdate the start of the subscriptions and so I purchased the needed months with the expectation that the subscriptions would start in April or May. I even paid a premium to have them rush-shipped (which they weren't) because as a business school we had hysterical patrons. Of course, when the subscriptions started (at about the same time as I received the back issues) they were backdated and so we received countless duplicates (which we offered on backserv). And we are still missing one copy of the May 2001 issue! I am now going around in circles with the person at HBR, who seems to be having trouble with my question about the gap we have in our collection that I would like to BUY. She honored the 2000 payment we made back in late 1999 and gave us the 2000 issues. She started us back up in Sept 2001, but she seems to have a problem with my asking for the ones we are missing. I have been back and forth 4 times via email today and have again asked her specifically for any issues from Jan. 2001-August 2001. I didn't think it was so hard to understand that request, and I did say I would pay for them duh. Oh well, until she gives me a price I won't bother telling her I was given 3 issues free :) Good luck with this title in the future, believe me I am watching it like a hawk from now on! Thanks Janice -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: Harvard Business Review subscription -- Janice White Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 11:38:45 -0600 From: Diane Neumeister <DNEUMEIS@loras.edu> Janice, After seeing your email message, I checked again with my customer service rep. at the subscription agency we use and she told me that she has been dealing with EDS in Boulder, CO, rather than directly with Harvard, and EDS had told her that the Sept. 2001 issue was out of print. She has contacted EDS again and they have now agreed to send the issue. I hope they actually DO send it! My contact at HBR asked me verify where you obtained that information, ie HBR Customer service or any other source. I told her I would ask, since she informed me that they have all of the back issues for 2001! I will give you her email information, once I receive some feedback from all of you. I am also going to address the issue of the number of issues a subscription covers fluctuating as I have heard from many of you.
