Information Management at Pfizer in La Jolla is a growing organization and
is looking for an Information Specialist - Serials and E-Resources
Librarian. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the
serials collection including the purchasing, cataloging, claiming, binding,
and maintenance. Additional primary responsibilities include: maintaining
all databases and web pages associated with delivery of information about
the serials collection, managing the Integrated Library System and all
upgrades to that system including future upgrades or replacement, purchasing
and negotiating contracts for electronic resources. The Information
Specialist will proactively review and seek technology solutions to improve
delivery of information. To this end he/she will participate on global
project teams and communities of practice to identify and utilize best
practices for the purchase of products and establishment of systems to
facilitate the delivery of information to the global Pfizer. He/she will
participate as a member of the local training team and reference desk team.

The Information Specialist position will require an MLS or MLIS from an
accredited ALA institution, 3 years relevant professional library
experience, demonstrated customer service orientation, and effective written
and verbal communication skills.
