Our regional accrediting body has no such list. (I know this
because
we're preparing for an on-site visit from their inspection team next
year,
so I've had to become very aware of their requirements.) Of course,
this
isn't the same body that operates in the Midwest, but all the regional
bodies' standards tend to be expressed in very general terms, focusing
on quality more than quantity, and allowing for flexibility based on
local
factors. They will
mainly want to be sure you have whatever kind of periodical collection
is
needed to
support the particular program(s) your school offers, whatever that is.
A good starting point for getting ideas for what titles to include
is
Magazines for Libraries, edited by Katz and Katz and published by
Bowker.
You might also want to
touch base with your faculty and see what additional journal titles they
would recommend.
