We use Access as the starting point to serve several databases on our
website.  The actual search page for each is programmed in ColdFusion by
a member of our IT staff, but the records it processes are taken from
Access.

You can visit our two library sites to get an idea of what is possible
with this approach.

Subject: Creating a searchable index with MS Access

We started indexing the Wonderful WV Magazine in MS Access and would
love it so that students doing research could search the database. I'm
wondering if anyone who databases items in MS Access has figured out a
way to turn an Access database into a searchable index?
