Some SERIALST readers will recall (perhaps with an involuntary twitch) a
long discussion thread that took place a year or so ago about the
elimination of periodical check-in at the University of Nevada, Reno
Libraries.

Many readers contacted me later to ask whether, when, and where an
article would be published on that topic. I'm sending this note out to
let you know that the article is now in print, and is also available
online via ScienceDirect (and SciServer).

Here's the citation:

Anderson, Rick and Steven D. Zink. "Implementing the unthinkable: The
demise of periodical check-in at the University of Nevada." Library
Collections, Acquisitions and Technical Services, vol 27/1; pp 61-71.

I'm not looking to start another long, disputatious thread on this topic
-- just wanted to let those who are interested know that the article is
now available.
