There is a goodly number of microfiche in the
Government Documents collection here at City
When I first opened the microfiche cabinets, I
found that they had dividers, but they were the
old deep red ones ... on top of that, my
predecessor had written on them in black (!) ...
couldn't read a thing.
So I went to the stationery shop and bought a
bunch of pastel 3X5 cards. I traced the outline of
the old red cards onto the 3X5 cards and I've
been using them instead. Since you seem to use a
slightly larger divider, you could buy 4"X6"
cards and cut them down.
The "new" dividers are cheap as dirt and I
write the call numbers on the tab in black, so
it's very easy to read.
Besides, it looks really pretty when you open

I am looking to restock our supply of microfiche
dividers/separators, which we use to divide up each
title by vol/year. With the Russ Bassett cabinets,
we need dividers that measure approximately 4 9/16 X
5 13/16 so that the cards fit without scraping the top
as your open and close the draw.
I have called the major library supply catalog
companies but am having trouble finding these. I
especially like the plastic opaque dividers we have
been using. Does anyone know where I can get these?
I find it hard to believe that this are not
manufactured anymore. Any help would be greatly
