PROJECT MUSE® ANNOUNCES NEW TITLES AND PRICES FOR 2004 COLLECTIONS Newest Additions Include Collaborations with International Publishers Baltimore, MD (July 31, 2003) - Project MUSE®, an online collection of scholarly journals in the Humanities, the Social Sciences, and the Arts, today confirmed new journals joining the project in 2004, as well as its subscription prices for 2004 collections. Among its new participating publishers for 2004, Project MUSE is pleased to announce several collaborations with international partners, including the University of Toronto Press, Singapore University Press, and the Indian Institute for Population Studies (Thailand). New journals joining the collection will expand Muse's coverage in diverse areas including music, area studies, film studies, demography. literature, and legal studies. List prices for the journal collections offered by Muse for 2004 are now available. The "2004 Full Collection," including all of the current titles plus the thirty-six (36) newly announced journals, will have an annual subscription fee of $20,000. For the 2004 subscription term only, subscribers will also have the option to maintain the "2003 Full Collection." This includes the journals in the current 2003 full collection, without the new titles to be added in 2004. The list price for this collection will be $18,000. All subscriptions to Project MUSE journal collections include available backfiles; unlimited campus-wide access, downloading, and printing; ICOLC-compliant statistics reporting; and enhanced online functionality. Muse will again offer two discipline-oriented journal collections: Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences. Several publisher collections will also continue to be offered. The list price for the 2004 Arts and Humanities Collection, with twenty-six (26) new journals, is $14,800. The 2004 Social Sciences Collection lists at $11,400, with twenty-four (24) new titles included. The Johns Hopkins University Press package will have a list price in 2004 of $5,000. The 2004 Full Collection, 2003 Full Collection, the Arts & Humanities Collection, the Social Sciences Collection and the Johns Hopkins University Press Package will continue to be available for subscription under Muse's popular Consortium Volume Discount Plan. For 2004, Muse has also introduced a new option for consortia, the Flex Plan. Project MUSE operates on a calendar year subscription term and all current subscriptions will expire on December 31, 2003. Subscribers are encouraged to renew promptly to ensure uninterrupted access to Muse.
