CATALOGING SERVICES LIBRARIAN: Supervised by Head of Bibliographic
Services, this position manages intellectual access to library
collections/information resources.  Establishes standards, polices and
procedures. Provides leadership in implementing intellectual access
technologies. Performs original cataloging/classification of materials in
all formats and maintains authority control in the library catalog, using
MARC or metadata schema as appropriate. Responsible for oversight of
government publications processing and access. Supervises 6 people.
Participates in collection development as a subject bibliographer for
assigned areas.  Participates in departmental, library, and university
committees and contributes to library planning.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA-accredited MLS; effective communication
skills; experience with intellectual access policies, principles, tools and
utilities, including OCLC or other bibliographic utilities, AACR2, USMARC
formats, LCSH, LC classification; supervisory experience; experience with
integrated library systems; analytical skills; demonstrated commitment to
customer service. Preferred: Experience with government publications
processing; knowledge and/or experience with Dublin Core and other metadata
cataloging methodologies; knowledge of at least one foreign language;
knowledge of HTML, SGML, knowledge of Innovative Interfaces ILS; experience
managing cataloging module of integrated library system.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Minimum salary:  $36,000.  Excellent benefits package.
