This way your subscription automatically renews and your credit card is automatically charged. -----Original Message----- From: Christopher Allen Waldrop [mailto:christopher.a.waldrop@VANDERBILT.EDU] Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 1:57 PM To: SERIALST@LIST.UVM.EDU Subject: [SERIALST] Direct subscriptions. We just got word from our vendor that Sierra (0161-7362) could no longer be ordered through a vendor but had to be purchased direct from the publisher. To make matters worse the publisher, the Sierra Club, indicates on their web site that they don't bill; all subscriptions have to be prepaid with a credit card. This isn't impossible for us, but it is an inconvenience. What makes it really problematic is having to remember each year to renew by credit card. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with these situations? Thank you. We, too, have a similar situation with some of our subscriptions. I have a hanging file folder for each month of the year. I put some type of printed information (photocopy of last renewal, etc.) into the folder for the appropriate month (about 2 or 3 months before the subscription expires) and then check that folder at the beginning of the month. Of everything I have tried, this makes it the easiest for me to keep up with this type situation. About two years ago we mysteriously began receiving this magazine. We've never ordered it nor are we paying for it!
