ASCD curriculum handbook Vince Jenkins 30 Jul 2004 20:30 UTC

Do new additions to the Association for Supervision and Curriculum
Development's *ASCD curriculum handbook* continue to interfile with
older materials (i.e. are they integrating continuations of earlier
materials, or a new edition)?

We have the *Handbook*, a 2-vol. ringbinder irregularly updated by
interfiled pages and by bound monographic sections, organized by section
tabs and dated between 1993 and 1997. OCLC has several records, all
monographic, the latest being for 2000. We initially cataloged it on
the "1993- " record (OCLC #27975016).

We recently received an all-new set comprising two ring binders and 10
new eds. (2003 and 2004) of the subsections but as yet no separate
interfiling leaves, nor does the new set have numbered or lettered
section tabs.

The instructions accompanying the new set give minimal guidance for
organizing the sections, but without mention of any earlier materials,
as if it's a new ed. An ASCD rep. told us the new stuff was to be
interfiled with or replace the old.

Should we keep the whole thing, integrating/replacing old and new, or
treat the latest materials as a new ed. and discard the old volumes?

Thanks for any suggestions.
